CBLD begins the design process by discussing your landscape vision at initial contact and then analyzing your current garden through a site visit.

The execution of your agreement marks the beginning of your design journey with CBLD. From there, an inventory and analysis of the property is completed to generate a base map of existing conditions.

Design

After reviewing design options and approving a budget, materials and planting schemes are refined and detailed documents are drawn. The project designer then assembles the construction team and supervises all details throughout the installation of the project.

The proper construction of the garden is one of the most exciting steps and crucial to the garden’s success. For CBLD-designed projects, our experienced Project Managers supervise every aspect of construction, from the coordination of contractors to the precise position of each stone. Then each plant is carefully placed, all installed by our expert horticulturists and plant-people.

Garden Care

Garden Care is the after-care service offered for CBLD projects, as well as other clients seeking the highest level of horticultural maintenance. The aesthetic direction of your garden is transferred from Craig to a team of expert horticulturists who customize a long-term maintenance plan. Garden Care preserves the original design intent while adapting the garden as it evolves over time.

Rooted in every detail

Nursery

The CBLD Nursery in Wadsworth, IL propagates the specialty plants used by the design and garden care teams, and acts as the hub for all plant acquisition and distribution. Born of necessity and an integral part of CBLD, the Nursery offers the unusual variety of plant material for which CBLD is known. The Nursery also provides shelter and sustenance for our clients’ exotic plants over the winter.
