Diamond Patterned Gardens

This landscape implements strong architectural planting design forms that complement the established contemporary building aesthetic.

Espalier pear trees and spirea hedges provide the green architecture and definition of the space. The diamond design motif was inspired by the architectural detailing in the adjacent greenhouse studio. Plantings inside the hedge diamonds vary by season to provide interest from spring to fall. Venturing along the long axis of the space offers extended views beyond into other garden spaces, and a monumental-scale iron gate found by the client is integrated into the garden as a focal point.
