‘Timeless Charm of Rosewood’ wins ILCA Excellence in Landscape Gold Award

We are thrilled to announce that Timeless Charm of Rosewood, a project close to our hearts, has been awarded the Excellence in Landscape Gold Award in the Residential Landscape Construction category at this year’s Illinois Landscape Contractors Association Awards. This recognition is a celebration of the artistry, vision, and collaboration that brought this extraordinary property to life—a space that honors its past while embracing its future.

Designing with Intention: Honoring the Land

Every great project comes with its own set of challenges, and Rosewood was no exception. The property’s unique topography, including its ravine edge, remnants of an old orchard, and the historic character of the home, required a delicate balance of preservation and innovation. Our team worked meticulously to honor the land’s natural features while introducing elements that would elevate its beauty and functionality. The result is a seamless integration of old and new, where every hedge, pathway, and garden bed feel intentional and timeless. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of working with two separate owners of this property—initially designing, installing, and caring for the gardens for the first client, and then continuing our work with the second owner, who was drawn to the property in part because of the landscape we had created. This ongoing relationship has allowed us to refine and evolve the property as it matures, ensuring it remains a timeless reflection of its stewards’ vision.

The original cutting garden, which has now expanded into a 100-foot-long herbaceous border, for example, was designed not only for its visual impact but also to serve as a source of joy and inspiration for the present family. The new arboretum reimagines the old orchard in the main lawn , with its carefully curated specimen trees, reflects our commitment to creating landscapes that grow and evolve with their owners. Every decision has been guided by a deep respect for the land and a vision for its future—a future that will be enjoyed by generations to come.

Let us help write the story for your property’s next generation…
